Re: Version 3.60 Discussion
This is a bit of a bug with older versions of the script. If nothing happens for long enough then your router/PC sees the connection as idle and closes it, disconnecting you from MSN. This was fixed in a later version so I'd recommend you download the latest version from http://www.burningimage.net/...

Re: New version - v3.80 - 30th May 2008
Can you be more specific?
What do you try to do and what happens? I'd always suggest using the latest version by the way, which is available on http://www.burningimage.net/msn.
Thanks

Re: client freezing when logging in
Rock and roll!
I'm working on some bug fixes for a new version at the moment, so that's helped a lot. Thanks for persevering.

Re: client freezing when logging in
I wonder if this will help. In mIRC, type:
Then try reconnecting to MSN. It may not lock up anymore. Then again it might!

Then close mIRC, delete msn.mrc and replace it with the one I've attached to this post.//run $mircdir $+ msn
Then try reconnecting to MSN. It may not lock up anymore. Then again it might!

Re: client freezing when logging in
Cool thanks.
Did you manage to see the line that it stops at when you hit ctrl-break by the way? It'll say under the Status tab in mIRC after you've hit ctrl-break.

Re: client freezing when logging in
The contacts was the bit I wanted unfortunately! I'd like to see if it sends any other kind of bizarre info with the contacts that messes the script up.
Did it give a line number that the script had frozen on when you pressed ctrl-break?
Thanks.

Re: client freezing when logging in
Yep got it. Bad news though, is that I simulated your contact list in my mIRC and it didn'tlock up at all. Sorry to keep getting you do type stuff, but if you could type: /set %msn.debug 1 and then disconnect and reconnect to MSN in mIRC, then paste me the contents of the Messenger window in an emai...

Re: client freezing when logging in
D'oh. Would you be able to send me a couple of files, just so that I can simulate your setup and see what may be going on? If you type in mIRC: //run $mircdir $+ msn could you send me the files "groups.grp", "allusers.txt" as well as the whole "groups" folder in that di...

Re: client freezing when logging in
Not sure why this is, but I know the bit that it happens on. It could be that one of your contacts has a character in their name that confuses the sorting function of the script or something. Is there any way you can try another account, with a different contact list? If you untick "sort by gro...

Re: Output to a file
Thanks for the post - good to hear it works on wine, even with all the openssl stuff. The code modification below should give you what you want to acheive. it should be fairly self explanatory, but let me know if you need any more support. Open msn.mrc, find: if (%msn.flash == yes) { flash @ $+ %msn...

Re: Warning: You do not have the SSL dll's installed correctly
Which version of mIRC are you using?
Where did you download the script from? If you download the latest from:
http://www.burningimage.net/msn/msn_mirc_v393.zip
you will find a readme file that describes how to install the script.

Re: support for offline
Unfortunately in order to support offline messaging a large part of the script needs to be rewritten, due to the fact that I'd need to use a new version of the MSN protocol.
Because of this, I'm sorry to say not to expect it any time soon.

Re: Support for display pictures and webcam?
Not at the moment I'm afraid.
Display pictures may feature at some point soon, but it requires a fair amount of work.
Unfortunately I doubt that webcams will ever be supported.
