Having Trouble With Messenger For mIRC

I keep Getting this error, * No such Com 'auth' open (line 50, msnauth2kxp.mrc)... i am using the mirc script hIRC and windows xp Pro..please help..

This means that you don't have the correct dll's and such installed with Windows, required for msn for mirc to run.

It's pretty terminal I'm afraid, I was under the impression that all XP and 2k installs had the correct dll's though.

Try this:
I am using windows xp pro. The error is caused by a missing dll file.
Here is a quick fix which did work for me...

1. Grab the dll file from http://www.pipeboost.com/downloads/winhttp5.dll
Thats just version 5. I couldnt find 5.1 on google or MS site.

2. Copy the dll file to your system32 folder
3. Register the dll with Start->Run and type regsvr32 winhttp5.dll (the registration was successful on my first try.. so i dont know what possible errors are and workarounds)

i randomly udated windows now it works but had trouble writing the log dir, thanks anyway

andyc... your .dll didn't worked... its the same problem... i got win xp pro sp2... damn, plz help me!

I'm using Windows XP home edition (5.1) (and mirc 6.17)and tried to use that, but it didn't work. It just keeps disconnecting. Any advice?

These problems should be sorted with the new version, out very soon, as the new version uses a completly new way of authenticating with the MSN servers.
